Your Brain Hallucinates Your Conscious Reality | Anil Seth | TED

Right now, billions of neurons in your brain are working together to generate a conscious experience — and not just any conscious experience, your experience of the world around you and of yourself within it. How does this happen? According to neuroscientist Anil Seth, we're all hallucinating all the time; when we agree about our hallucinations, we call it "reality." Join Seth for a delightfully disorienting talk that may leave you questioning the very nature of your existence. All channels of knowledge in one single awareness is the goal of Atma-based Vedic Education

http://www.tm.org All channels of knowledge in one single awareness is the goal of Atma-based Vedic Education 1. Dr. Hagelin: Maharishi, I appreciate the value of your Vedic Education for expanding the awareness of the student, but does this Vedic Education also include the study of such disciplines as math, computer science, or economics-practical knowledge to prepare a student to earn a living and to function in today's technologically driven world? 2. Does the tiger remain alive due to the education of mathematics or physics or chemistry? Man's liveliness on the basis of what you teach him in the schools and colleges is a wrong notion. 3. The other kind of answer is that if a man can earn his living by knowing mathematics or physics, what will be deficient in his earning if he enlivens in his awareness the basis of all mathematics, the basis of all physics, the basis of all chemistry, the basis of all physiology? 4. Another fundamental level of answer is that Vedic knowledge is the knowledge of Atma, knowledge of the Self. 5. Second level is swara of Atma. Swara means reverberation. That means Atma, itself, reverberating into sound value. And so it is called shruti. And the Ved reverberating into the meaning of the language: And that meaning is substantiated in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, the five senses and five senses of action. 6. Vedic education, education of Ved means education of Atma. Education of Atma is called nitya aparusheya. Nobody made Atma. It is eternal reality. Atma, or Self, is not made by someone. Veda is not made by anyone. It is picked up on the level that it exists on its own. 7. When we say Vedic education, we are opening that reality to the awareness of the student. Education is to unfold. Vedic education, is what contains all mathematics, all physics, all chemistry, all physiology, everything, all trigonometry, all geometry, all astronomy. 8. When a man has studied mathematics so he can count numbers in the market, but here, in the unfoldment of the total Atma, all mathematics, all fields of action, all fields of knowledge, are lively in one single awareness. Knowledge of that element or that quantity which is sum total of all knowledge. If a man has total knowledge, he'll be by far more efficient in his emotions, in his thinking, in his speaking, in his action, than the one who has only one knowledge. 9. If a man can earn his living by using his small part of the brain, how much a man who knows how to use the full brain will earn? Very much more. 10. This total Natural Law works for him whose awareness is awake in Atma. We are emphasizing the knowledge of Atma because if the Atma is awake in one's awareness, then total knowledge is awake in one's thinking, in one's speaking, in one's behavior. Infinite diversity of the galactic universe is governed by that power, which begins to work for any intelligence which is in tune with Atma. This is Vedic education. 11. If one has grown, even then he has a chance, through regular morning, evening meditation; or has a chance for his children to get into that. 12. All these poor people in the world, quarter population of the world, they are living life, they're eating, they're growing, but they don't have mathematics or anything. All these fields of knowledge are a mockery. 13. Vedic education will make a man lord of all he surveys. Modern universities give all knowledge in one campus. Vedic education gives all knowledge in every brain. 14. Atma. One word contains the total knowledge. And that word is one's own existence: 'a'. The whole Veda flows from 'a'. 'A' is the first word of the Veda. And the whole Veda, all those 40 values of the Veda, hundreds of books, they are all the flow of the syllable 'a'. 15. That is Vedic education. Everything else is a trash. When you have the ability for all the channels of knowledge in your single awareness, that is education for man. Don't waste your children's time by engaging them in partial, fragmented field of knowledge. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is widely regarded as one of the foremost scientists in the field of consciousness.

Alan Watts The Void, The Mirror and The Thunder of Silence

In Buddhist imagery, the void is often symbolized by a mirror. A mirror has no color to it—it merely reflects all colors that appear in it. Huineng also said that the void was like space. Space contains everything—mountains, oceans, stars, good people, bad people, plants, animals, everything. And the mind is like that. Space is your mind. It’s difficult for us to see that because we think we’re in space and that we look out at it. All space, all types of space—visual, dimensional, audible, temporal, musical, tangible—are the mind. They’re dimensions of consciousness. And so the great space that every one of us apprehends from a slightly different point of view in which the universe moves—is the mind. So the mind is represented as a mirror, because the mirror has no color in it, yet it’s able to receive all the different colors. Thirteenth-century Christian mystic Meister Eckhart said, “In order to see color, my eye has to be free from color.” In the same way, in order to see, hear, think, and feel, you have to have an empty head. The reason why you’re not aware of your brain cells is that they’re void, and for that reason, you are able to experience. So that’s the central principle of Mahayana. When the Hindu Buddhist monks went to China, and the Chinese saw them trying to sit perfectly still and not engage in any worldly activities—and these monks were celibate—the Chinese thought they were crazy. Why do all of that? The Chinese were very practical, so they reformed Buddhism and allowed Buddhist priests to marry. And their favorite story from India was about a layman—the wealthy merchant Vimalakirti—who could out-argue any other disciple of the Buddha. He even won a debate against the bodhisattva of wisdom, Manjushri. They all had a contest to define the void. The monks gave their definitions, and Manjushri gave his, and then it was Vimalakirti’s turn. Well, the businessman said nothing. And that’s how he won the whole contest. The thunder of silence. #buddhism #alanwatts #totalhumanoptimization Buy My Art - Unique Sigil Magic and Energy Activation Through Flow Art and Voyages Through Space and Imagination. https://www.newearth.art/ BUY MY BOOK! https://www.amazon.com/Reality-Revolution-Mind-Blowing-Movement-Hack/dp/154450618X/ Listen to my book on audible https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Reality-Revolution-Audiobook/B087LV1R5V The New Earth Activation trainings - Immerse yourself in 12 hours of content focused on the new earth with channeling, meditations, advanced training and access to the new earth https://realityrevolutioncon.com/newearth Alternate Universe Reality Activation get full access to new meditations, new lectures, recordings from the reality con and the 90 day AURA meditation schedule https://realityrevolutionlive.com/aura45338118 Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/The-Reality-Revolution-Podcast-Hosted-By-Brian-Scott-102555575116999 Join our Facebook group The Reality Revolution https://www.facebook.com/groups/523814491927119 Contact us at media@advancedsuccessinstitute.com For coaching – https://www.advancedsuccessinstitute.com For all episodes of the Reality Revolution – https://www.therealityrevolution.com Subscribe to my Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOgXHr5S3oF0qetPfqxJfSw The thumbnail art is by Roger Oney check out his collection at www.rogeroney.com Music By Mettaverse "First Source" ✧ Awaken the Energetic Heart ✧ 111Hz and Subsequent Octaves ➤ Listen on Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/2KjGlLI ➤ Follow them on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2JW8BU2 ➤ Join them on Facebook: http://bit.ly/2G1j7G6 ➤ Subscribe to their channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyvjffON2NoUvX5q_TgvVkw Alan Watts Playlist - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKv1KCSKwOo_n1g-X4hVtAai5G84Qz4x- All My Neville Goddard Videos In One Playlist - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKv1KCSKwOo8kBZsJpp3xvkRwhbXuhg0M The Plait Activation Meditation - https://youtu.be/ZTltJBIXpz4 The Big Bang Meditation - https://youtu.be/luAzM-5_GdE The Infinity Palace Meditation - https://youtu.be/pa5O1AEw9wA The Confidence Meditation - https://youtu.be/30BP7yZgRiU The Transdimensional Nexus Meditation - https://youtu.be/Bo_TsnugbuM Guided Meditation: Into the void - https://youtu.be/Rakvq7oS6C8 Accessing Source through the void - https://youtu.be/Q7zJW3ZuuK8 Finding Your Purpose - https://youtu.be/XJtZtmlWq9w Parallel Realities Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKv1KCSKwOo-1-dStwX7huyhcxpJPMrWi Transforming Your Health: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UjSt3V8xso&list=PLKv1KCSKwOo9Ef3Qy_G9aduDHbkPbpKOb The Prosperity Revolution: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKv1KCSKwOo8M7wX4D348BfA2Auj_h0MP Visualization Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKv1KCSKwOo_dx-M73FZa4anVsj4k4Ilr

+++ My channel is NOT monetized! Youtube puts those ads in the video and NOT me. +++ This Alan Watts video "Trust The Universe And Control Nothing" is so inspirational. When you trust your own inner knowing you will only end up placing trust where it is safe. The same concept applies to being honest. If you are always honest you can never be deceived. I speak the truth therefore I always hear the truth. Even if someone lies to my face, I hear and know the truth regardless of what is being said. Beautiful wisdom from Alan Watts ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I love to listen to the wisdom of this gentleman by the name of Alan Watts ❤️ Although the Alan Watts talks are some decades old but nevertheless the topics are a very central subject in our current world especially in the western countries. A very practical tip to start meditation is to breath in deeply and to breath out deeply. Repeat this breathing several times and you will feel a different state of your mind after a few seconds. Furthermore you can support your meditation with nature sounds and binaural beats. 📚 Build A Reading Habit Reading books is such a beautiful habit. Sometimes you might not find the time to dive into the written adventures of an author and thats totally fine. A powerful rule of thumb is to read 20 pages a day (that are 600 pages a month or around 2-3 books a month and around 24-36 books a year). This reading habit will change your life for the better and may change your direction totally :) So give it a try and start reading now. 😃 Stay Positive Positive vibes are so important and a very noteworthy quote is the following one: "Your problem is not the problem, your reaction is the problem." Stay positive and always react in a empowering and positive way, this will make all the difference :) ☁️ Follow Your Dreams Do what your heart wants to do and dont do what other people might think is the right path to follow. Watts, along with many of his cohorts were known for exploring various ways of expanding the mind including LSD and other psychedelic substances. LSD was not banned in the US until 1967 so experimenting with it before that time would not have the same illegal connotations that it would have in today's America. --- by True Inspiration -------- Some background from wikipedia: Alan Wilson Watts was a British philosopher, writer, and speaker, best known as an interpreter and populariser of Eastern philosophy for a Western audience. Born in Chislehurst, England, he moved to the United States in 1938 and began Zen training in New York. Pursuing a career, he attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, where he received a master's degree in theology. Watts became an Episcopal priest in 1945, then left the ministry in 1950 and moved to California, where he joined the faculty of the American Academy of Asian Studies. Watts gained a large following in the San Francisco Bay Area while working as a volunteer programmer at KPFA, a Pacifica Radio station in Berkeley. Watts wrote more than 25 books and articles on subjects important to Eastern and Western religion, introducing the then-burgeoning youth culture to The Way of Zen (1957), one of the first bestselling books on Buddhism. In Psychotherapy East and West (1961), Watts proposed that Buddhism could be thought of as a form of psychotherapy and not a religion. He considered Nature, Man and Woman (1958) to be, "from a literary point of view—the best book I have ever written." He also explored human consciousness, in the essay "The New Alchemy" (1958), and in the book The Joyous Cosmology (1962).

Alan Watts' Being in the Way Podcast Ep.3: In Your Own Way

Alan Watts illuminates the connections between Taoism and relativity, technology and human evolution, culture and seperation, Saints and rascals, you and not-you, as well as difference and unity. Furthering outlining his father’s storied life and works, Mark shares perspective on Alan’s early literary successes, radio work, and ensuing lecture tours. Highlighting how Alan’s lively and expressive style of sharing dharma on the public stage quickly captivated audiences hungry for insight into the mystery, Mark introduces part-one of the talk that is the namesake of this podcast: Being in the Way. “The principle of relativity is absolutely fundamental to an understanding of Taoist philosophy. That is to say, that wherever you are, whoever you are, and whatever you are: you’re in the middle.” – Alan Watts Show Notes: Taoism & Relativity, Technology & Human Evolution Exploring the innate tension which constitutes our feeling of ‘I-ness,’ ‘there-ness,’ of being here as a self-conscious human, Alan uncovers the fundamental connection between Taoism and relativity. Offering perspective on human evolution and technology, Alan illustrates how unique, outwardly distinct parts can fit together into a working, whole system. “We realize we wouldn’t be healthy as a total organism unless there were all these wars, plots, and politics going on between the various cells in our blood. But from their point of view, they feel a little bit put out. We’re in the same situation, because very slowly the human beings on the surface of the planet are realizing themselves into a total planetary organism with an electronic nervous system.” – Alan Watts Seperation & Culture, Saints & Rascals (15:25) Taking a look at the human body and it’s dynamics, Alan describes how most of us are fighting the external world all the time, constantly trying to hold ourselves together. From this perspective of the learned illusion of seperation, Alan depicts how our culture and class insulates us from the realities of life, and therefore our innate oneness. Alan then elucidates the overlapping connection between Saints and rascals. “We have been brought up to feel separate. We have been brought up to feel actually disjoined from the external world; although, that is pure mythology and doesn’t exist at all. You’re as much part of the external world as a whirlpool is part of a stream.” – Alan WattsYou & Not-You, Difference & Unity (28:10) Are you breathing or is it breathing you? Speaking to the notion that every living being is a manifestation of everything that there is, Alan peels back the veil of separation, lifting the pertinent illusion that what you define as ‘you’ and ‘not-you’ are separate things. Illuminating the innate relativity between ego and oneness—between yin & yang—Alan relays how difference and differentiation is actually the way in which unity is discovered. “The feeling of ‘not-you’ and the feeling of ‘you’ are relative. They go together, and you can’t have the one without the other. And if you can’t have one without the other, that means there’s a secret conspiracy between the two – they are really the same, but pretending to be different. Because the whole idea is, if there wasn’t a difference, you wouldn’t know anything was happening.” – Alan Watts This podcast was made in partnership with the Alan Watts Organization. Mahayana Buddhism - Alan Watts (1960)

Here is an episode from the 1960 season of Alan Watts' KQED television series, Eastern Wisdom & Modern Life, entitled "Mahayana Buddhism". To find out how you can purchase the entire Eastern Wisdom & Modern Life series on DVD, please visit: http://alanwatts.com/collections A native of England, Alan Watts attended the King's School near Canterbury Cathedral, and at the age of fourteen he became fascinated with the philosophies of the Far East. By sixteen he regularly attended the Buddhist Lodge in London, where he met Zen scholars Christmas Humphries and D. T. Suzuki. As a speaker and contributor to the Lodge's journal, The Middle Way, he wrote a series of philosophical commentaries and published his first book on Eastern thought, The Spirit of Zen, at age twenty-one. In the late thirties he moved to New York, and a few years later he became an Episcopalian priest. In 1942 he moved to Illinois and spent the wartime years as chaplain at Northwestern University. Then, in 1950, he left the Church, and his life took a turn away from organized religion back toward Eastern ways and expanding horizons. After meeting author and mythologist Joseph Campbell and composer John Cage in New York he headed to California and began teaching at the American Academy of Asian Studies in San Francisco. There his popular lectures spilled over into coffeehouse talks and appearances with the well-known beat writers Gary Snyder, Jack Kerouac, and Allen Ginsberg. In late 1953 he began what would become the longest running series of Sunday morning public radio talks, which continue to this day with programs from the Alan Watts tape archives. In 1957 he published the bestselling The Way of Zen, beginning a prolific ten-year period in which he wrote Nature, Man and Woman; Beat Zen, Square Zen and Zen; This Is It; Psychotherapy East and West; The Two Hands of God; The Joyous Cosmology; and The Book: On the Taboo against Knowing Who You Are. By 1960 Watts's radio series Way Beyond the West on Berkeley's KPFA had an avid following on the West Coast, and NET television began national broadcasts of the series Eastern Wisdom in Modern Life. The first season, recorded in the studios of KQED, a San Francisco television station, focused on the relevance of Buddhism, and the second, on Zen and the arts.

I don't think my motivation was wrong. Wherever you derive your motivation from as long as your improving your life and making you happy is GREAT (as long as your not being a detriment to others). I loved going to the gym. And I loved making the prank videos. Especially at first for both of those. I loved and needed those experiences. But looking back.. they were mainly out of insecurity to try to impress people / girls. To grow my ego. To become powerful. And it kind of worked lol.. but both eventually fell apart. (lost most of my gains at the gym & I am not longer with whatever lulz). Those were AWESOME experiences that I needed to get to where I'm at now. And doing things to grow your ego / gain power is fine. But looking back both those experiences were A BLAST, but it was pretty obvious that I wanted more power / to feel better about myself / get people to like me. I think the love / power thing is a spectrum. It's almost always both - a percentage of both. Like yin yang. They need eachother. And I think a common young man turning into an adult thing is to do ego and power building things. And I will probably do lots of ego / power gaining things in the future aswell. Nothing wrong with that. But my priority in the future will be focusing on the "love" end of the spectrum as much as I can. Doing things just because I love doing them. That's it. Not doing them for money, power, respect etc. Anything you do solely for power is almost always compensating for insecurity. Hang out around lots of "powerful" people and this will become really obvious to you.. My goal is to do things just because I love doing them and the experience, without needing to get any power, money, respect out of it & to move to the "love" end of the spectrum as much as I can. The power you get from doing things for love will be strong and is power that which you can be trusted. The power you get from doing things just for money, power, respect, etc.. is always power that will crumble / leave you unfulfilled. --Luke"
